How much does a residence permit in Armenia cost in 2026?
The state fee is 105 000 ֏ for applications filed by 31 October 2026 and 155 950 ֏ from 1 November 2026. Plus a medical certificate (about 17 000 ֏) and a notarized passport translation.
Can I live in Armenia without a residence permit?
Citizens of the EU, US, UK, Russia and many other countries enter visa-free and may stay up to 180 days per year. Working for an Armenian employer requires a work permit. For long-term living, a residence permit is the better option.
What changes on 1 November 2026?
Higher fees, no extensions (only a new application), filing via a single online platform, sole props need 1 million ֏ in the account or in turnover, LLC founders need capital from 2 million ֏, and quotas are introduced.
Do I need a residence permit to open a bank account?
No. Banks usually ask for a passport, a PSN number, an address in Armenia and proof of source of funds.
Can I register a sole proprietorship remotely?
Yes, by power of attorney for 40 000 ֏. You need a passport with a notarized translation into Armenian.
