Armenia Customs Calculator 2026

in short

Importing a car from outside the EAEU means tariff duty (15% for cars under 3 years; older cars pay 20% with a minimum or a per-cm³ rate), 20% VAT and a 0–20% environmental tax by age. EVs made after 2023 are VAT-free in 2026, and within the quota they are duty-free too. Parcels up to €200 and 31 kg are free of charges.

This Armenia customs calculator covers three cases: car imports (calculated both as a commercial import and under the personal-use regime), commercial goods, and personal parcels or baggage. Results are shown in AMD and EUR at the rate you enter.

How is car customs clearance calculated?

The customs value is the price plus freight and insurance to the EAEU border.

Car age (full years) Petrol duty Diesel duty
under 3 15% (12.5% above 2,800 cm³) 15%
3–7 20%, minimum €0.36–0.80/cm³ 20%, minimum €0.32–0.80/cm³
over 7 €1.4–3.2/cm³ €1.5–3.2/cm³

Then 20% VAT on value plus duty, and the environmental tax: 0% up to 5 years, 2% for 6–10, 10% for 11–15, 20% from 16. The personal-use regime (EEC Council Decision 107) replaces duty and VAT with one payment: 48–54% of value with a €2.5–20/cm³ minimum for cars up to 3 years, €1.5–3.6/cm³ for 3–5 years and €3–5.7/cm³ for older cars. Cars already cleared in the EAEU pay no duty, only VAT and environmental tax.

Worked example

A petrol car made in July 2021, 2,487 cm³, customs value €14,000, rate 405 AMD/€, declared in October 2026: value 5,670,000 AMD; duty 20% = 1,134,000 AMD (above the €0.44/cm³ minimum); VAT 1,360,800 AMD; environmental tax 0. Total 2,494,800 AMD (about €6,160). The personal-use route would cost 3,021,705 AMD, so the calculator recommends the commercial route. Customs fees add roughly 4,500 AMD.

What changed in 2025–2026?

  • EV VAT exemption from 1 February 2026 only for EVs made after 31 Dec 2023.
  • 0% EV duty quota: 15,000 cars for 2026 plus 5,000 more (August 2026), 2024–2026 production only.
  • Parcels: €200 / 31 kg per shipment since 1 April 2024. Land baggage: €200 / 10 kg since 19 August 2024.
  • From 2027 the EAEU plans an e-commerce rule (5% of the whole value above €200, at least €1/kg); the calculator shows it as a preview only.

Who is it for?

Relocants bringing a car from Europe, the US, the UAE or Georgia, businesses importing goods (enter the duty rate for your HS code), and online shoppers checking parcel limits. Uncertain items are flagged: the fee amounts come from an older schedule, and the 405 AMD/€ rate should be replaced with the current CBA rate.
